Add branches in MindGenius

This video shows you how to add branches/topic boxes in MindGenius 6.

Change the layout of your mind map

This video shows you how to change the layout of your mind map in MindGenius.

Move and reorder branches in MindGenius

You can also move any of the branches around to re-order item in your mind map.

Insert Hyperlinks into your mind map in MindGenius

Attach hyperlinks to things you find online to relevant branches.

Add images to a branch in MindGenius

This video illustrates how to add a picture to a branch in MindGenius. It also shows you how to resize, change or clear a picture from a branch.

Attach files from your hard drive to your mind map in MindGenius

This video illustrates how to attach a file to a branch in MindGenius (MG). You can attach any type of file to a branch. It does not actually attach the file, but it ‘links’ to the file that is on your hard drive. This means that you can quickly find the research material you saved on your hard drive. It is advisable to create a project folder where you save all of your files and the project mind map. You can then copy the whole project file over to a USB if you need to work on the mind map on a different computer.

Export to Word with numbered headings

This video illustrates how to export your mind map into Microsoft Word and have all your branches converted into numbered headings. The standard format of reports includes numbered headings. MindGenius exports all branches into Microsoft styles, which means that Word recognizes that your branches are now headings and can generate an automated Table of Contents accordingly.

Export to Word with standard headings (not numbered)

To export your mind map into Microsoft Word without ‘numbered’ headings, follow the steps in this video. By deselecting ‘numbers’ when exporting to Word, MindGenius will make sure to only convert the branches of your mind map into non-numbered headings.

Import a Word document into MindGenius

This video illustrates how you can import a Word document into MindGenius. You use Microsoft styles to indicate headings and sub-headings in your document, so MG can convert these into branches and sub-branches in your new mind map.

MG will also add your paragraphs into the notes panes in the mind map.

It will not import images.
